The purpose of this letter is to provide an unsolicited recommendation letter for the general contracting skills provided by Brad Book and Tim Pfohl of Lakeway Homes, Inc. During the summer of 2011, Lakeway Homes was the general contractor on a project that involved remodeling my existing home abd constructing a a new three car garage and guest quarters. On the main house, a three-car garage and two bedrooms were gutted and built into a single multimedia/gaming/bar room. A detached garage was built across the existing driveway with stonework, landscapeing, and fencing installed on the property. I found Mr. Book to be highly talented in his process. While remodeling can be invasive in ones's ongoing daily life, Mr. Book found various ways to minimize this problem. Mr. Book was able to provide creative adjustments and improvements to our vision while at the same time working to maintain the integrity of our vision. On several occations, it became necessary for Mr. Book to "hold a sub-contractors feet to the fire". In more than one case, Mr. Book did so without our request or even his being aware that we we knew of his defense on our behalf. Mr. Book proved to be extremeley knowledgable, professional, and diligent. We ended up with an excellent result of which we are proud. I would recommend Mr. Book and Lakeway Homes, Inc. to anyone. I am writing to strongly recommend the services of Lakeway Homes and Storm Restoration for any of your home repair needs. After the hail storms of last summer my wife Nicole and I were inundated with calls and letters from roofing contractors requesting our business. With some thought we decided to wait till late fall to find a contractor to make our repairs which turned out to be a wise decision. After asking around we made contact with Lakeway Homes a contractor with over 25 years of construction experience and to our delight were based locally in Argyle. Lakeway's combination of skill, experience, and intuition is exactly what we had been looking for in a contractor. Brad Book one of the owners took control of the project from meeting with the insurance adjuster on many occations to protect our interests to scheduling all the contractors in a way that they did not interfere with our busy lifestyle. We were so impressed with quality of their work that we had some additional masonary work and painting done by the Lakeway crews and were delighted with their work also. I am writing to recommend the services of Lakeway Homes and Brad Book for any of your home building needs. We have recently used Lakeway Homes for a large remodel on our current house. The remodel included 1500 square feet of air conditioned space, a large 4 car garage and a 400 square foot outdoor living space. We bid the job out to three different builders. Lakeway Homes was definitely reasonably priced and was highly competitive with our other bids. The reason we chose Lakeway is Brad Book did his research extensively. He was the only builder who bid a new septiv system due to new Texas building codes. Without going into major detail, this was a $10,000 septic system that we budgeted into the build cost. The other builders did not put the septic in the bid and it would have been a surprise on the budget. Lakeway's experience and expertise was extremely helpful with our complicated addition to our home. Brad was visible on the job and extremely thorough with the sub contractors. The amazing part was their ability to finish the project and match it to our existing home. Our architect was great, but Lakeway made the addition look seamless and matched up the existing property with the new addition. It looks and feels as if the home is in its original state with no addition made. Lastly, Lakeway was available at all times. In the building process, many things go unplanned and sub contractors miss small things that hinder the finished project. Brad Book and Tim Pfohl recently completed building a home for my wife, Jo, and I in Section 3 of the Windmill Hill addition in Desoto, Tx. The contract was signed on December 15, 1997: completion was promised by June 2, 1998: the slab foundation was poured in late January 1998: the house was completed and delivered to us on May 1, 1998. Brad Book oversaw the work at the job site. I lived nearby and was at the job site one to three times a day, every day. All the subcontractors were capable, efficient, reliable, and courteous. There was very little "down" time, except when the weather was bad. Both Tim and Brad were very helpful when Jo and I requested changes from the original plans. They were quick to explain how the change would affect the overall result and how much they would cost. Jo and I both were well satisfied with the quality and timeliness of the work subcontractors: the courteous and efficient work of Tim during the few times Brad was not available: and especially Brad's reliability and effectiveness in getting most of out of the subcontractors. Jo and I highly recommend Brad Book and Tim Pfohl of Lakeway Homes to anyone who wants to get the best result from a contract to build themselves a home.
